BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- Deputies with the Bladen County Sheriff's Office arrested a man accused in an armed robbery and high speed chase.
Investigators said the incident started At the Kaids Mini Mart on NC 53 on October 14. According to a news release, a man was sitting in his vehicle outside the business when Badr Rashada Colvin forced the victim to get out of the truck. Colvin then took the truck and headed toward Cumberland County, deputies said.
A trooper with the North Carolina Highway Patrol attempted to stop the stolen truck on NC 53 near Cumberland County when they said Colvin sped off. Deputies said Colvin was arrested in Fayetteville after he was involved in a crash that totaled the truck.
Colvin is facing charges including possession of a firearm by a felon, robbery with a dangerous weapon, second degree kidnapping and several other criminal charges and violations.
Colvin is in the Bladen County jail under a $700,000 bond.
